I hate it how people now a days define everyone by the music that they listen to. I recently got told that I wasnt something (even tho I never rlly said that I was that) just because I didnt listen to enough of that stereotype lables music. Here, I'll give you the convo. It was over facebook, the honesty box.

Them: Honey, I'm going to have to disagree with your "About Me" section.

I wouldn't consider you anywhere near punk. You dont even listen to that much punk music. How can you claim to be punk without first listening to the music? Eh, teenagers and their steriotypes, I guess. But if youre going to claim to be something, please at least attempt to back it up.

Me: um, ja. If you'll re-read that one more time, it might make better sense. I put that because that's what people have said I was. I was saying that i didnt care if they said I was that, but that's what other people say.

oh and about the music, I havent put everything in my about me shit. so you dont know what kind of music I rlly listen to ^ ^ thanx.

and another thing. Music doesn't necessarily define who you are. So you can be a punk without listening to all the punk music. and who cares if you don't listen to all the 'unk' bands. You might listen to one or two but not like the others. Just because you listen to all Goth music, all Gangsta music, all Emo music, that isn't what makes you goth, gangster, or emo. It's how you act or your attitude towards things. So really, you don't know who I am unless you hang out with me alot. So don't go by defining people by what they listen to. And teenagers and their stereotype thing, everyone and everything gets stereotyped in its own way! So everyone gets stereotyped by everyone.

That is how I honestly feel about what you are saying, because music isn't what makes people who they are, it's what they like. ^ ^

So yes, I am tired of being judged or told that I cant be something/or am not something JUST by what i listen to. It's completely in your head! And if we are defined by what we listen to, if that's truly who we are, then shit...im fucked up.
